Taranis Capital is proud to announce the appointment of Amit Varma as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO). With an exceptional track record and over 28 years of global leadership experience, Amit brings deep expertise in banking, financial services, and information technology to Taranis Capital’s executive team.
Amit is an award-winning global pioneer who has held CIO and Technology Head roles at leading financial institutions including Citibank, Emirates NBD, DBS Bank, Fidelity Investments, and American Express. Over the course of his career, he has spearheaded the development and launch of more than 450 fintech products and platforms, leveraging cutting-edge AI, Data, and Cloud technologies.
Among his many accomplishments, Amit led the creation of the world’s first blockchain product for pre-IPO trading, a hybrid multi-cloud open-banking platform, one of the earliest AI/ML implementations for payments screening, and a real-time transaction processing core banking platform recognized as one of the world’s foremost.
His leadership has driven innovation across the US, EMEA, and Asia in areas spanning core banking, investment management, finance, trade, treasury, payments, and regulatory compliance.
